In for Balaton Sound 2013

Yesss! My first festival for 2013 is booked! Who needs Tomorrowland when there is Balaton? And enough tickets! Tomorrowland gets overcrowded. The fun is gone when the amount of tickets are gone as well in ten minutes. My friends and I decided to book a short trip to Budapest to experience the Balaton Sound. It's a popular festival in Hungary. Must check it out!

Balaton here we come

The Balaton Sound Festival takes place from 11th till 14th of July 2013. It's one of Europe's largest open air festivals and co-created by the organizers of Sziget festival. Since 2007 the festival is held annually on Lake Balaton in Hungary. The festival territory is actually on the seaside resort Zamardi, 5 kilometres from Siofok. We decided to go by plane to Budapest. You can reach Siofok by train or by bus. There are also partybusses or partytrains from Belgium to Hungary. Balaton Sound provides you 24 hours music a day while you are relaxing with a drink in your hand at the famous Lake Balaton.

Chill & party zone

Sounds nice? By day it is one big chill out zone! Chilling on an airbed or swimming in the lake... The festival has created luxurious chill out facilities with hammocks, bean bags, easy chairs, etc. The first performances start in the afternoon. There are variable stages, lounges and tents for the performances. The breezy summer temperature, the sun on my skin, the bars, the drinks, the stages and the music.

Sleep, necessary?

Partyharders out there might not need any sleep. But I do if I want to party five days long. Next to the festival territory there is a wide camping. It only costs 7 Euros. There are enough trees to cover your tents from the heat. If you are getting too hot, you can take a swim in the lake! We decided to rent a little apartment in Siofok. If you rent a hotel, hostel or apartment it would be best to rent a bike.

The line up is already looking good! Friends, music, drinks, sun, a lake seems like a good festival to me! I'm looking forward to it!

I will definitely keep you posted about the festival!

How did you like the festival? We are thinking going to there this year and I would be really happy if you could tell me if it's forth to come all the way from Finland to experience.
